Midnight Plum Drapery and Woven Lanterns
Setup Method
Dressing windows with heavy midnight plum drapery combined with suspended ceiling lanterns establishes an intimate, diffused lighting environment throughout the room. Hang a dark iron curtain rod three inches below the ceiling trim line, extending six inches wider than the window frame on both sides. Mount full-length plum velvet drapery panels that fall completely to the floor surface, effectively blocking unwanted light and adding thermal insulation. Hang two or three hand-woven bamboo or dark rattan pendant lanterns from the ceiling corner closest to the window area using decorative metal hooks. Install low-wattage warm LED bulbs inside the lanterns to project patterned shadows across the dark curtains, generating soft ambient illumination perfect for evening relaxation.
