Oatmeal Beadboard Lower Wall Paneling
Setup Method
Applying traditional beadboard paneling to the lower third of the nursery walls adds structural protection while introducing charming vintage texture. Measure from the baseboard upward to a height of thirty-six inches, marking a level horizontal line along the room walls with painter tape. Cut pre-sheeted beadboard panels or individual tongue-and-groove planks to size using a miter saw, sanding all cut edges smooth. Secure the panels to the wall surface using heavy-duty panel adhesive supplemented by small brad nails along the upper and lower edges. Cap the paneling structure with a classic wooden chair rail trim, filling all nail holes and joint seams with paintable spackling paste. Paint the lower beadboard section in a rich oatmeal or soft mushroom shade using semi-gloss interior paint, leaving the upper wall painted in a soft off-white to create a balanced two-tone visual effect that resists scuffs.
