Channeling seventies vintage aesthetic, the retro feathered shag uses heavy crown layering and flipped outer ends to distribute thick hair evenly across the head. Request short crown layers that blend into medium perimeter lengths, finished with point-cut texturizing throughout the ends. Apply a lightweight blow-dry lotion to damp hair and use a small round brush to dry the crown, pulling sections upward to build maximum height. For the side and back layers, roll the brush outward toward the face, directing warm airflow along the barrel to create flicked, feathered ends. Once dry, flip your head upside down and mist a flexible-hold hairspray through the roots, shaking the hair out as you return upright.
