Half-Up Crown Braid with Flowing Bottom Waves
Setup Method
A half-up crown braid combines practical hair management with a romantic bohemian aesthetic, keeping heavy front sections off the face while displaying lush back length. Start by detangling dry, naturally wavy hair and applying a light shine serum across the surface. Create a center part and take a two-inch section of hair from above the right temple, dividing it into three equal strands. Construct a classic three-strand braid or French braid heading toward the back of the head, securing the end with a small clear elastic band. Repeat the exact braiding process on the left side. Pull both braids to meet at the back center of the crown, crossing them over each other and pinning them securely using crisscrossed bobby pins hidden beneath the hair. Gently tug on the outer loops of the braids to pancake them for added fullness. The remaining bottom waves drop naturally, creating a structured yet effortless style.
