Combining finger-wavy technique with a slightly longer bob length around the ears, this hybrid style softens rigid vintage ridges into touchable wave texture. Cut the interior crown in layered concentric circles to drop weight, leaving perimeter length long enough to reach the top of the earlobes. Apply a medium-hold styling lotion to damp hair, molding classic finger waves along the sides and crown using a comb and your fingers. Allow the hair to dry completely without disturbing the gel matrix. Once dry, take a soft bristle paddle brush and gently comb through the set waves from roots to ends. The rigid wave ridges will open up into soft, connected vintage ripples that outline the head smoothly.
