7. Swept Side Flat Twists into Low Twisted Chignon
Setup Method
This low-manipulation updo keeps coily strands completely tucked away from friction, protecting hair ends while maintaining a clean, sophisticated look. Part a front section extending from the left ear across the forehead to the right temple, applying a light coat of edge control. Create four neat flat twists within this front section, directing them diagonally toward the lower right side behind the ear. Gather the remaining bulk of the hair at the nape of the neck, combining it with the ends of the front flat twists. Secure the gathered hair into a low ponytail with a soft microfiber band, then divide the ponytail length into two equal halves. Twist the two strands around each other to form a thick rope, then roll the rope upward into a compact chignon fastened securely with bobby pins.
