Suspended Wire Overhead Grid Rack
Setup Method
Suspending an overhead wire grid system from ceiling joists utilizes unused upper room volume for lightweight materials and drying projects. Locate ceiling joists using a stud finder, screwing four heavy-duty steel eye hooks firmly into the overhead timber. Attach decorative steel chains or steel cable cords to the ceiling hooks, dropping down to a comfortable arm-reach height. Connect the lower ends of the chains to the four corners of a rigid iron mesh grid panel. Use lightweight spring clamps or S-hooks to suspend drying painted items, wet paper crafts, fabric swatches, or hanging organizer buckets from the grid. This overhead arrangement frees up lower wall and floor areas while aiding project drying.
