Take the left side panel, pull it smoothly across the top of the ponytail elastic toward the right side, and pin it underneath the pony base using a bobby pin. Next, take the right side panel, sweep it across the top of the pony toward the left side—overlapping the first panel completely—and secure it underneath with a second pin.
