The interlocked dual rope updo combines two separate twisted sections into a sleek, low-slung arrangement suitable for formal celebrations or warm weather. Divide the hair horizontally across the back into two equal upper and lower sections, securing each into a centered ponytail aligned vertically at the nape. Convert both ponytails into firm, separate rope braids using the standard counter-directional twisting technique, fastening the ends with thin elastics. Take the upper rope twist, loop it upward to form a clean circular shape, and pin it flat against the back of the head using several hairpins. Thread the lower rope twist through the center opening of the top loop, coiling its remaining length neatly around the base of the upper structure.
