Repurposed Antique Cabinet Base
Setup Method
Transforming a vintage side cabinet or buffet table into a central coffee station adds authentic character and substantial storage capacity to your living space. Begin by inspecting the wooden frame for structural integrity, tightening loose joints with wood glue and metal braces where necessary. Sand the entire exterior surface with medium-grade sandpaper to remove old varnish, creating a smooth texture suitable for fresh paint adhesion. Apply two coats of off-white or light gray chalk paint, allowing sufficient drying time between applications before distressing high-touch edges lightly with fine sandpaper. Seal the painted surface with clear furniture wax, buffing with a microfiber cloth to achieve a soft matte finish that resists liquid stains. Install vintage-style iron handles or cup pulls onto the drawers and doors to enhance the classic rustic aesthetic. Place your espresso machine, grinder, and syrup dispensers directly on top, utilizing the internal drawers for filter storage, coffee beans, and extra stirrers.
