Retro Faux Finger-Wave Bob with Decorative Pearl Side Combs
Setup Method
Transform a short, uniform pixie or crop into a classic flapper-inspired faux bob by creating a series of horizontal S-shaped waves across the front and sides. Apply a firm-hold styling gel generously to damp hair, using a fine comb to drag hair forward and back in alternating horizontal curves. Insert flat metal wave clips at each ridge point to hold the defined wave shapes tightly in place while drying under a diffuser or bonnet dryer. While the top waves dry, curl the lower nape hair tightly upward, pinning the short ends flat against the scalp to shorten the overall perimeter length. Once the gel sets completely, remove the wave clips carefully without disturbing the glass-like shine of the ridges. Insert two vintage-inspired pearl side combs above the ear on one side to anchor the short layers securely while adding an opulent accessory contrast.
